Special guest appearances...

People aren't the only animals to visit the sanctuary! Lately, we've had a pair of bald eagles hanging around. Our volunteer, Daniel, took some pictures of them sitting in a tree. As you can see, one of them is a juvenile and hasn't yet molted into the adult's bold white head:

  1. The one on the right is around 3 years old, and the one on the left, is about 6-7. As you can see, the juvenile barely has any white on his head. They start getting more white on their heads at 4, and pretty much get full white by 5.
