Birds in Concert 2015: Guest Artist Babaloo


The World Bird Sanctuary “Birds in Concert 2015” sponsored by Ameren Missouri, will launch the fourth and final performance of the year on August 27th with performances by Babaloo followed by The Raptor Project.



Get ready for kids of all ages to rock out with their favorite performer—Babaloo!  Winner of numerous songwriting awards for children’s music, Washington, MO native Babaloo has thrilled audiences by the thousands with his high-energy humor.  Every kid in the audience will have a chance to join in.  So come and jam with Babaloo!

Babaloo’s performance will be followed by an intermission, where guests can visit event sponsors Whole Foods Market and Renewal by Andersen.

Be sure to sign up at their booths for the opportunity to win great prizes 





Following intermission our own Raptor Project takes to the stage to perform such favorites as Turkey Named Fred, Roadkill Shiver, and many other songs from their popular kids CDs.

BIRDS IN CONCERT 2015

World Bird Sanctuary’s in-house band, “The Raptor Project” performs songs from their popular children’s environmental education CDs while birds fly just inches over your heads.  Fun songs include “Turkey Named Fred”, “Roadkill Shiver”, “What’s the Matter”, Animal Noises” and others. 

“Raptor Project” performances  are followed by performances by local artists such as Javier Mendoza and others.

Get ready to rock with Babaloo!


Babaloo is here!  This Thursday, August 28th!  Our final Birds in Concert of the 2014 season is the hugely popular Babaloo.  Bring the kids and prepare them to get into the act!


Where else but World Bird Sanctuary could you enjoy free family entertainment that includes not only a concert, but live birds of prey and other animals?

Ready for something different?  Then join us this Thursday night, August 28, for a high energy, often hilarious, musical comedy act for kids (and parents) of all ages.  Be warned—this is not your usual run-of-the-mill kids’ crooner.  Babaloo’s show is fast-paced, totally interactive, full of fun props, hilarious tunes and wacky stunts.  Everybody gets into the act. 

This prize-winning Pied Piper packs more fun than seems possible into every show, and he performs over 300 shows per year.  The Children’s Music Web Awards named him “Best Entertainer”, and he placed 1st and 2nd in the world’s largest songwriting contest.  St. Louis Magazine voted him, “The region’s best family entertainer,” and he’s a selected touring performer for the Missouri Arts Council and Mid-America Arts Alliance.

It’s that time of year again when the World Bird Sanctuary's in-house band, The Raptor Project, is gearing up for our August concert series—Birds in Concert! 


 The Raptor Project often invites the kids to join them onstage during one of their songs

Babaloo Rocked!!












The bubbles were flowing...










Beanbags were flying...





...and buckets were banging...








...as Babaloo worked his magic on the youngsters in the crowd (as well as the "over 20" set).








Last Thursday Babaloo played to a packed house and had the
amphitheater jumping!
The kids became part of the act, and young and old alike enjoyed the show.

The last performance in our Birds In Concert series will take place this Thursday, August 27. If you haven't made it to one of the performances yet, this is your chance. Thursday's featured performers will be the Tyson Valley Ramblers. Come out and join us for some traditional bluegrass stylings, as well as some innovative takes on country music.

Also performing will be our own Raptor Project group, as well as our stars, the birds--and other creatures from the World Bird Sanctuary.

We have amphitheater seating, and food is available for purchase. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets for picnic style seating on our hillside if desired.

Babaloo is Back!!


Our third Birds In Concert features Babaloo!


Bring your children, bring your grandchildren, bring your cameras, and be prepared to be entertained by the hilarious musical stylings and antics of Babaloo!  






One of the most popular children's entertainers in the area is coming to the World Bird Sanctuary on Thursday, August 20!  Babaloo not only entertains, he gets the audience involved in the act.  The children (of all ages) love him!




In addition to Babaloo, there will be performances by our own Raptor Project, and flight demonstrations by our birds.

Be sure to mark your calendars for this evening of pure entertainment.
