Sponsor Our Eagle Flight Team
Our Eagle Flight Team flies for special occasions such as St. Louis Cardinal’s ball games, corporate events, St. Louis Earth Day, Veteran’s Day events, and various local, state & government events.

Our team consists of four Bald Eagles:  Lewis, Clark, Buford and Norbert, who need their regular round-the-clock care along with travel and other expenses.  Your team sponsorship helps our eagle team with these expenses, but also celebrates the glory of the Bald Eagle’s survival in the wild in North America!  Together as a nation, we have brought these precious creatures back from the brink of extinction.

Every time our eagles fly it reminds all who experience the sight why these beautiful birds are our national symbol.  To sponsor an Eagle flight Click Here

The Ultimate Father's Day Gift

Are you stumped over what to get Dad for Father’s Day?

Tired of giving him the same old thing for his special day?

Then why not give Dad a WBS inscribed brick telling him just how much you appreciate him?  Bricks can even be personalized by including one of our stock symbols representing his favorite hobby--such as a fish for your favorite fisherman, golf clubs, a duck for the duck hunter, etc.--the list is long.

Even though Father’s Day is almost upon us it’s not too late to order a brick along with a certificate that can be mailed directly to Dad—or sent to you so that you can give it to him on his special day.  The deadline for ordering bricks for our summer installation is 6/15.
Photo of the donor certificate to be presented to the recipient

Each time dad visits WBS his brick will be there in the World Bird Sanctuary amphitheater to remind him just how much he is loved and appreciated.

Of course, we are accepting orders for other purposes also—anniversaries, birthdays, “just because”, etc.  Order by 6/15 to be included in our next installation.  You’ll be able to view your brick by the end of July.

To order your brick Click Here and follow the instructions—or call 636-225-3490, Xt. 0, and tell the person who answers that you want to buy a brick.

Happy Birthday Arnie!

Arnie Schrier has served World Bird Sanctuary for many years, both as a volunteer and as a Board Member.

Arnie retired from the board and from his weekly volunteering at World Bird Sanctuary in 2012.  In 2013, Arnie’s family honored him and his unwavering service to WBS by purchasing an engraved brick for his 85th birthday as part of WBS’s “Buy A Brick” program.

Sentiments expressed on WBS bricks are only limited by your imagination

On Sunday, September 1st, Arnie, his wife Thelma, and his children and grandchildren visited World Bird Sanctuary to view the brick, a fitting tribute to his dedication to our mission.

Arnie and his family came to view his brick

Arnie will be recognized by our long-term visitors as the helpful and smiling face that greeted visitors at the Visitor Information Center (the VIC) – the first stop on a visit to World Bird Sanctuary.  Arnie would let visitors know what there was to see and tell them about some of the birds they could see at the VIC.  In addition to chatting with visitors, Arnie put birds out into the weathering area in the morning, diligently scrubbed their overnight quarters, and then made sure they were fed and put to bed safely for the night before leaving.  Skyler, the Lizard Buzzard, who has since passed away, was Arnie’s favorite – and the two would “chat” back and forth while Arnie was going about his work at the VIC.

Arnie visiting with his old friend, Patriot the Bald Eagle

After an absence of over a year, it was wonderful to see Arnie back at WBS again.  We think that the engraved brick – a gift from Arnie’s family – was a great way to commemorate his 85th birthday and honor the work he has done for World Bird Sanctuary.

Thank you, Arnie – we hope that you will visit us again soon!

You can find out more about our engraved brick program here (https://www.bricksrus.com/order/worldbird/)

Now Is The Time!

Now is the time to place your order for an engraved brick.
Available spaces on the entry stairs are almost filled
If you’ve been meaning to order one of our inscribed bricks to be installed in the WBS amphitheater—don’t delay any longer.  The deadline for ordering this batch of bricks is February 4th so that we will receive them in time to be installed before World Eagle Day,  which takes place on the fourth Sunday in March.
Your brick could still be installed on the stairs leading down to the amphitheater
Admittedly, the large majority of the bricks already installed are “in memoriam” bricks for friends or loved ones who have passed on.  However, as one walks down the stairs to our amphitheater it is interesting to read the bricks and to see the other occasions celebrated by our supporters….Valentine messages, anniversaries, birthdays, a memorial for a beloved pet,  birth of a new baby, to honor someone you love or admire, to celebrate a wedding, a scout troop celebrating completion of a badge or project, parents celebrating a milestone in their child’s life, or (and this is a very broad category) “just because”.
Soon we will be starting on the amphitheater landings and seating areas
So—if you would like to have your brick included in this next installation, be sure to place your order before February 4th.

To order your brick Click Here

If you prefer to order and pay by check, call 636-225-4390, XT. 0 and tell the Naturalist who answers that you would like to buy a brick.  Inscriptions are limited to 21 characters per line (including spaces and punctuation) and 3 lines of text for a 4” X 8” brick, or 21 characters per line and 6 lines of text for an 8” X 8” brick.
Sample of a donor certificate to be mailed to the brick recipient or their family
In addition to the text, other options that may be included for an additional fee are symbols which may be chosen from a large list of stock symbols, and/or a Donor Certificate which can be mailed to the honoree or their family.
